Postdoctoral opportunities
The Multimodal Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Washington University in St. Louis is recruiting two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to study the neural and computational mechanisms of human cognition.
We are looking for
Candidates should have:
- A doctoral degree in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field by the anticipated start date
- A strong background in fMRI and/or electrophysiology
- Interest in cognitive computational neuroscience and multimodal research
- Evidence of rigorous quantitative research and scientific communication
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment
Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially welcome:
- 7T fMRI
- Computational modeling
- Agentic AI and AI-assisted scientific workflows
- Reproducible neuroimaging or electrophysiology data processing
- Advanced statistical or machine-learning methods

The lab is based in the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, WashU Medicine. Undergraduate research assistants
We welcome WashU undergraduate students interested in neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, or computational neuroscience to inquire about joining the lab as research assistants. Depending on their interests, experience, and current projects, undergraduate researchers may contribute to studies of visual and social cognition through neuroimaging data acquisition and analysis, behavioral task development, computational modeling, and scientific programming.
Prior experience with every method is not expected. We value intellectual curiosity, reliability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to make a sustained commitment to research. Opportunities depend on project fit, mentoring capacity, and availability.
